This past Friday my son presented his first abstract at a scientific meeting. It was
especially meaningful to me since it was only about 30 years ago that I
presented my first abstract and it was at the same meeting - the
Southern Societies meeting. Just a personal note and to say how much we
in New Orleans have appreciated and benefitted from both the SSCI and
other member organizations and the meeting they hold here. Please let me
