The Journal of Investigative Medicine (JIM) is the official
publication of the Federation. Published bi-monthly, JIM offers
original investigations and articles detailing:
- Latest developments in medical research
- Information about changes affecting the biomedical research community
- Interviews with prominent members of the scientific community
- Federal regulatory changes
- Professional recruitment and research funding guide

Abstract Supplements are published three times a year in conjunction with JIM. The Supplements provide the programs and abstracts of AFMR's regional and national meetings and those of 16 other societies that meet jointly with AFMR.
The Journal of Investigative Medicine uses a Web-based manuscript processing system, which can be accessed at http://www.editorialmanager.com/jim. First-time authors may begin the submission process by choosing "Create Account" and following the instructions. More detailed instructions and a question/answer database are accessible under "Instructions & Forms" and "Get Help Now".
Manuscripts will no longer be accepted by mail, except through prior consent from the Editor.
