    JIM IF Announcement
The AFMR is pleased to announce the recently released, 2015 Impact Factor (IF) of 2.085 for the Journal of Investigative Medicine (JIM). The IF for JIM has consistently increased over the past 3 years and is at a 10 year high. "Impact Factor" is a key measure of a scientific journal's performance, reflecting the number of citations over the course of 2 years. This milestone for JIM is a testament to the dedicated work of the editorial board, which includes Drs. Michael J. McPhaul (Editor-in-Chief), Gloria L. Vega, Don C. Rockey, Robert T. Means, and Marco Marcelli. This team selects high quality, original manuscripts of current interest to the large community of physician scientists and medical researchers. JIM showcases the latest basic, clinical and translational research in a multidisciplinary forum. It is unique by publishing biomedical advances, as well as changes affecting the clinical research community, including abstracts from the AFMR's 4 Regional Meetings. This is consistent with AFMR's mission to develop and mentor tomorrow's leaders in medical research. JIM was introduced in 1997 and is currently published by BMJ, offering 8 issues per year.

    Letter from the Editor

    Michael J. McPhaul, MD, Editor
    Dear Colleagues,

To help further your research, we are reaching out to encourage you to publish your case reports in the Journal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports, an Open Access journal from the AFMR, and published by SAGE.

The AFMR is committed to enhancing the training and career development of its members, as well as to furthering its mission to facilitate the conduct of research to improve medical care. The publication of high quality case reports represents a critical element of investigative medical science and is an important avenue for career development. To facilitate this process, the AFMR established the Journal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports. Should you choose to become an AFMR member, you would receive a 50% discount on the fee to publish your case report in the journal.

I invite you to use the online submission site to submit or to learn more about the publication and review the instructions for authors. The Journal of Investigative Medicine High Impact Case Reports is indexed on PubMed Central. If you have any questions about submitting, please contact the National Office for assistance, at admin@afmr.org.

    Sincerely,

    Michael J. McPhaul, MD
